Joslyn (Josie) Shippy, 94, of McConnell, IL passed away at FHN Memorial Hospital on Wednesday August 8, 2018. Joslyn was the daughter of Elmer and Alice (Engebretson) Berget. She attended the Engebretson School and graduated from South Wayne High School in South Wayne, Wisconsin. Josie was employed by Burgess Battery in Freeport where she worked in the Lab for 38 years and retired in 1988. She married Duane E. Shippy on November 2, 1941 at the Jordan Lutheran Church near Browntown, Wisconsin.

She is a Charter member of McConnell Legion Auxiliary Post 1225 and a member of the McConnell UMW . She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and working in her flower beds, and taking morning walks with Rosie.

She is survived by her daughter; Sandra Shippy of Santa Monica, CA. and son Steve Shippy of Freeport, IL. Also one sister; Mae Dunn of Cape Coral, Florida. She is also survived by many wonderful Nieces and Nephews.

Josie is proceeded in death by her Parents, Husband Duane on July 14, 2018, brother Virgil Berget and his wife Agnes and former wife Mae Esther , sister Myrtle Lisser Carroll (Phil), brother Merlin Berget, sister Avis Mau ( Milton) and sister Hazel Zuberbuhler (Shorty) and a sister Shirley in infancy.

Funeral Services will be Monday August 13, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the McConnell United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be on Monday at the church from 10:00am to 12:00.

A luncheon will be held following the church service.

Graveside services will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at 2:00 pm.

At the family's request flowers and memorials gifts given at Duane's Service were greatly appreciated.

Therefore they are not necessary for Joslyn's service.

A special thanks to the Nurses and Staff on 4 East and Telemetry at FHN Memorial Hospital for their kindness , compassion and care shown to the family in their time of need. Also a special thanks to Joslyn's niece Linda Molter and care giver Sandy Rahorn for their care and kindness and to all of Mom and Dad's wonderful neighbors.
