Josephine "Joy" Wurster age 91, passed away on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at the Lena Living Center surrounded by her family. She was born on April 21, 1927 in Freeport, IL to Elsie Lincoln. She was married to Burdette Thomasson the father of her children and then married William Wurster on February 28, 1976 and were married for 25 years. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elizabeth. Joy was a trustee for the Elizabeth Township from 2001 till 2017. She was known for her "Joy" to the world cakes. She enjoyed baking and took pride in her wedding cakes and catering.

She is survived by 4 children; Judith (Larry) Buchenau of Lena, IL, Steven (Mary Ann) Thomasson of Elizabeth, IL, Richard (Kara) Thomasson of Lena, IL and Mary (John) Steele of Elizabeth, IL. 10 Grandchildren; Amy Buchenau, Beth Rich, Dan Buchenau, Jason Thomasson, Joel Thomasson, Shauna Lewis, Eric Thomasson, Jeff Steele, Matt Steele, Mollie Steele. 6 great –grandchildren; also a brother Carl (Roxanna) Pinnow of Naperville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband William on February 26, 2001.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday September 11, 2018 at the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elizabeth.

Visitation will be from 9:00 till time of service

Officiating will be Pastor Dan Marggraf.

Interment will be at the Elizabeth Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her name.
