John F. Heiler Sr. 80, of Lena, IL passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Monroe Clinic Hospice Home in Monroe, Wi. He was born on July 17, 1940 in Lena, Il to Fred and Mary (Cosgrove) Heiler. John graduated from Lena-Winslow High School in 1959. He married Kathleen Bender June 18, 1960 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Freeport, IL. John worked many years as a welder for LBI and also worked in the area as a welder.

John was a member of the Depot Stove Gang, NRA and the local rifle club. He enjoyed metal working, tinkering with projects, working on his lathe and watching NASCAR.

John is survived by his daughter- Amy Heiler of Lena; 2 sons- Steven (Ronda) Heiler of Lena and John Heiler Jr. of Lena; 4 grandchildren- Michael Heiler of Lena, Jamie (Patrick) Reed of Lena, Sarah Heiler of Lena and Johnathon Heiler of Freeport; 3 great grandchildren- Landin and Dean Heiler and Angel Hoeffer all of Lena; and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Kathleen on December 30, 2016.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Leamon's Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Leamon's Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Officiating will be Randy Nicholas.

Interment will take place at Lena Burial Park.

A memorial has been established in his name.
