John D. Havens, 59, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Monday September 18, 2017. John was born on April 9, 1958 to Herman and Cleo (Stein) Havens in Freeport, IL. He married Rhonda Vance on October 13, 1989 in Darlington, WI. He worked at Dura 17 years, and was an over the road trucker, and then became a milk delivery driver for Werhane in Lena. John served his country in the US Marine Corps from 1977-1982. John loved to go fishing, hunting, gamble, drinking, junking, working on trucks and repairing lawnmowers. He could fix anything. John enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife; Rhonda, two sons; Jeremy (Pam Eggers) of Story City, IA and Josh of Apple River, six grandchildren; Keegan, Taylynn, Braxton, Tristin, Chandler, Vince, four brothers; Roy (Yvonne) Havens, Scott (Cheri Harper) Havens, Reese (Stacey Heitkam) Havens, Steve Havens, a daughter-in-law; Alaina Havens, one aunt; Eunice Lomas, several nephews and nieces.

Proceeded in death by his; parents, two brothers; Skeeter and Mike, seven aunts and uncles.

Funeral service will be held on Friday September 22, 2017, 1:00pm, at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home, Warren, IL.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home, Warren, IL.

Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery.A memorial has been established in his name.
