John C. Engleking, 87, of Lena formally of Elizabeth, passed away with his wife by his side on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Lena Living Center in Lena, IL. He was born on January 17, 1933 to Francis and Rita (McNutt) Engleking in Carroll County, IL. He married Norma Eberle on June 23, 1956 in Savanna, IL. John worked for the Savanna Army Depot as a carpenter for 40 years. He farmed as well, raising beef cattle and cash crops alongside his wife. Some of his favorite things to do were going fishing and camping at the Savanna Army Depot Sportsman Club.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Norma, children; Douglas (Lynn Smith) Engleking of Menomonee Falls, WI, Deanna (Rick) Kruse of Freeport, IL, Dawna (Kerry) Stamm and Debbie Bennett of Monroe, WI, grandchildren; Jay II and Joey Jackson, Jennifer (Adam) Stattler, Ryan Engleking, and Alisha Bennet, great-grandson Isaac and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Shaw, brothers; Herbert and Allen Patrick Engleking.

Memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Pastor Keri Rainsberger will be officiating the service.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
