Johanna J. Leamy, age 75 of Lena, IL, passed away September 20, 2018 at Cherryvale Place in Rockford, IL. She was born on June 20, 1943 in Chicago, IL to Mary Zielnicki and Charles Staponaitis. Johanna married James Leamy on May 23, 1964 in Berwyn, IL. She worked for 31 years as a receptionist for St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Crystal Lake.

Johanna is survived by her husband Jim of Lena; 3 children- James A. Leamy of Carpentersville, IL, Jean (Steven) Schloskey of Belvidere, IL, and Jeff (Melissa) Leamy of Franklin, WI; grandchildren- Maggie McGonagle, JD Leamy, Brittany Schloskey, Jessica Schloskey, Amanda Schloskey, Brittany Bugler, Sarah Bugler, and Chase Leamy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joe Staponaitis and sister Phyllis Fiore.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. til noon on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Funeral Mass will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena, IL.

Officiating will be Father Andrew Skrobutt.

Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lena.

A luncheon will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
