Joanne M.
Wulfekuhle
Nov 20, 1941 — Jul 24, 2026
Joanne M. Wulfekuhle, age 84 of Nora, IL, passed away on July 24, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 20, 1941, in Dubuque, IA, to Leonard and Helen (Deppe) Hafeman. Joanne met her husband Wildred "Willie" Wulfekuhle at a dance at the Melody Mill in Dubuque. They were married on May 30, 1964, in Dubuque, IA.
She was a dedicated farm wife who worked alongside Willie and her family for many years. Even when she was no longer able to help physically, her heart and mind never left the farm. She continued to play an important role behind the scenes, taking care of the bookkeeping and supporting the farming operations in whatever way she could. Joanne was an avid radio listener, enjoying a wide array of music including oldies, polkas and waltzes which reminded her of Willie. She was always up on the latest weather forecasts and shared it with everyone she knew. She was known for her delicious baking, cooking and recipe box. Joanne also enjoyed mending and sewing, making clothes for her kids, banners for church, and in the last few years making hundreds of baby burp towels in which she took great joy in giving away.
Joanne is survived by her children- Tim Wulfekuhle of South Wayne, WI, Chris (Andy) Stiefel of Sun Prairie, WI, Deb (Scott) Kent of Lena, IL, Steve (Jaime) Wulfekuhle of Nora, IL and Mark (Brooke) Wulfekuhle of Warren, IL; grandchildren- Brett Stiefel, Brandon (Fiancée Andrew Caporale) Stiefel, Jordan (Mikayla) Stiefel, Greg (Jamie) Kent, Ryan (Lindsey) Kent, Ellie (Clayton) Lieb, Bryana (Gabe) Hightower, Brayden Wulfekuhle, Tyler (Lexi) Wulfekuhle, Noah Wulfekuhle, Keaton Wulfekuhle, Eve Moore, Eli Moore, Eden Moore, Ezri Moore, Wildred Wulfekuhle, Wakely Wulfekuhle; great-grandchildren- Charlie, Chase, Callum, and Camree, Dante, Nevaeh, and Willa; sisters-in law Judy Hafeman and Elaine Wulfekuhle and many nieces and nephews.
