Jerry L.
Workinger
Aug 19, 1961 — Feb 17, 2026
Jerry L. Workinger, "Lynn", age 64, of Warren, IL passed peacefully with his beloved family by his side on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. The son of late Patricia Gille, Lynn was born on August 19, 1961, in Freeport, IL. Growing up in the Warren area, he spent his teenage years cultivating a strong work ethic and passion for his community on local farms.
Lynn found love at an early age for loud muscle cars, large trucks, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed going to car and truck shows when his busy schedule allowed. You also would catch him riding around the area in one of the many toys he had accumulated throughout the years. During his limited free time, he also enjoyed watching his favorite shows, ranging from Ice Road Truckers to Walker Texas Ranger.
Developing a deep passion with 18-wheelers, Lynn decided to devote his life to a career on the road as a professional truck driver. Providing services both regionally and nationally – Lynn was proud to share stories he had accumulated while visiting all 48 contiguous states over his career. Even after being forced off the road and into early retirement, Lynn never missed an opportunity to share many joyful experiences with others.
Well-known for keeping his trucks immaculate, Lynn loved sharing his passion with his children. It was not unusual to drive past to see Lynn and the kids helping him detail them. It also brought great pleasure during the times the family was able to share a ride during the numerous trips throughout the country.
Lynn also spent several years volunteering with the Stephenson County Sheriffs Reserves. He enjoyed deep camaraderie with his fellow reserve deputies, and in the Sheriff's department. It brought great joy for him to serve the community he deeply loved.
Lynn loved spending time with his family and friends throughout the years.
He is survived by his two children—Joseph (Vanessa) Workinger of Phoenix, AZ and Christina (Erik) Cavazos of Dekalb, IL; one granddaughter, Kaia; Father-Gary Miller; 3 brothers—Lonnie Workinger, Todd (Lori) Workinger, and Troy (Monica) Miller; Sister Angelica Albrecht; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother.
