Jeanette "Jan" J. Wingert, 81, of Kent, IL passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Lena Living Center.  She was born on August 12, 1937 to Arthur and Margaret (Youtzy) Snyder at her home.  She married Don Wingert on October 29, 1955 in Elizabeth, IL.  Jan enjoyed gardening, cooking, visiting with many friends and relatives and attending auctions.  For many years she ran a catering business called Taste of Country with her daughters.  Jan also enjoyed going to Home Extension meetings and taking care of Mike's dog Ava, and watching her humming birds.  She was looking forward to her two granddaughters weddings this summer.  She also loved to give Spud, Boomer, and Ava a ride on her gator.

Jan is survived by her daughter Wendy (Gary) Pickard of Kent, son Michael (Carolyn) Wingert of Kent; five grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Pickard, Renee Pickard, Lexi (Fiancée Chad) McIntosh, Katie Wingert and Emma (Fiancée Michael) Wingert; three great-grandchildren Isaac, Eli, and Nakiya; sister Sharon (Bob) Allen; three step-grandchildren, John, Jake, and Jeremiah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, daughter Dena Heller, sister Marilyn Snyder, and great-granddaughter Olivia Pickard.

Private family services will be held at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Because of Jan's love of auctions, her estate will be auctioned off tentatively Labor Day Weekend.  All friends and family are asked to attend for a celebration of life.  Proceeds of the auction will go towards her memorial.
