Lena- Jean M. Curtis, 74, of Lena, IL passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 at her home. Jean was born on March 19, 1940 to Lester and Vera (Gower) Fried in Black River Falls, WI. She married Richard Curtis on August 6, 1960, and he passed away in 1983. Jean worked for the Freeport Housing Authority until her retirement in 2010. She collected Precious Moments and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her son Brad (Amy) Curtis of Lena, IL; two step sons Donald (Shirley) Curtis of Ocala, FL, and Bob (Anne) Curtis of Wisconsin; grandchildren Hailey and Maya Curtis of Lena, IL, Sandy (Vito) Ferro of Byron, IL, and Susan Dolson of Goldendale, WA; one brother Lester Fried JR. of Lena, IL; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Jeffery Curtis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 4, 2014 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of services on Saturday, October 4, 2014.

Burial will be at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton, IL.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
