JANICE M (CLINE) GEACH
2/3/43 – 7/29/24
Janice was born at home in Apple River Illinois to Lawrence and Iola (Piefer) Cline. She lived most of her young life in the Apple River area and attended Apple River Grade School and Warren High School. Janice was preceded in death by her Father (Lawrence Cline) and Mother (Iola Piefer Cline). She is survived by her Husband Richard Geach, sister Karen Cline McKee (Marty Mckee), brother Jeff Cline (Monica Busch Cline) two children Traci Geach and Tony Geach (wife Keri Kuhn Geach) four grandkids (Cassidy Geach, Jackson Geach, Tori Geach, and Makenna Geach) and by numerous Nieces, Nephews, Grand Nieces and Grand Nephews.
She developed a love for the Church and for Music while in grade and high school and she and her husband have been very active in church serving in many volunteer positions and in church choirs for most of their lives. They were currently active in a church Choir in their Summer Home in North Carolina as well as a church Choir in Melbourne, FL.
Janice started dating her husband Dick while in High School and they were married after Janice completed her studies to be a Beautician. They got married 4/6/62 when Janice was 19 and were married for over 62 years. She followed Dick in his career as a banker but also was active as a Beautician from time to time owning her own shop in Warren, Il for several years.
She was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren and provided a positive example as wife/partner to her husband, a Parent to Traci & Tony and Grand Parent to her four grandchildren. It has been said that no one remained a stranger once Janice has met them. Richard tells stories of travel flights on airplanes when by the time they reached their destination she not only knew the name of the person sitting next to her; but his/her history (hometown, job, education, family, etc.), and likely had an address so that they might maintain some communication. She was a bright light to all who knew her. If you knew her, you likely loved her.
Unfortunately, her bright light went out on 7/29/24 when she died suddenly and unexpectedly while preparing to go to dinner with her husband and a friend. She leaves a legacy of love with her family and a multitude of friends. She will be missed by all. At the time of her death, she and her husband resided 7 months a year in Palm Bay, Fl and 5 months in the smokey mountains of North Carolina.
A "Celebration of Life" service for Janice will be held August 17 at 2:00 PM in the United Methodist Church of Apple River, Illinois. 61001. A memorial will be established at the Apple River Methodist Church.
