Janet E. Hildebrand of Freeport, IL (formerly of Orangeville, IL) went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2015 at FHN Memorial Hospital at Freeport, IL. She was born on November 6, 1924 in Rockford, IL. She graduated from East High School in Rockford, IL in May of 1942.

She married the love of her life, Neal Hildebrand on September 10, 1948 at The Cherry Valley Methodist Church in Cherry Valley, IL. Together they raised five in Orangeville, IL, residing in Orangeville for 46 years. She worked for the Orangeville School District for many years.

Janet loved her large family. She enjoyed reading (especially her Bible), cooking, knitting, and crocheting. Through the years she made many afghans for her family and friends. She was a faithful member of the Orangeville Methodist Church and also the Grace Evangelical Free Church of Orangeville, IL, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School.

She is survived by her son Steven (Marilyn) Hildebrand of Orangeville, IL; daughters- Susan (Jene) Eberle of Monroe, WI, Nancy (Steve) Rodebaugh of McConnell, IL, and Bonnie (Jeff) Clark of Freeport, IL; son-in-law Dennis Nolan of Lena, IL; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Neal, daughter Sally Nolan, her mother Ella Shelden, sister Dorothy Shelden, brother Richard Shelden, brother Robert Shelden (in infancy), and grandson-in-law Jeremy McNutt.

Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Orangeville, IL.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. til time of service on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Orangeville.

Officiating will be Rev. Allen Lambert.

Cremation rites to be accorded.

A luncheon will follow the funeral service at the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Orangeville.
