Obituary

James F. Hummert, 80, passed away on February 4, 2018 at Waverly Place in Stockton, IL. He was the son of John and Kathryn (Drane) born on July 14, 1937 in Chicago IL. James Married Joanne (Dasko) on July 1, 1961 at Saint Simeon Catholic Church in Bellwood, IL. James worked for the United States Postal Setvice for over 30 years. He started his postal career as a window clerk. He was an active member of the Postal Union, eventually becoming the president. James advanced his postal career to become a Labor Relations Specialist. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joseph Catholic Church. James was very active in the church, an avid reader, a Chicago Bulls fan, spending time with his family.

James is survived by his five children; Maria (Randy) Schallau of Kalamazoo, MI, Kathleen Blakely-Beukema of Lena, Anita Prindle of Lena, Jenny (Jim) Portincaso of Alsip, IL, and Steven Hummert of Lena, IL, 12 grandchildren; Jillian, Matthew, Joanna, Rebecca, Joey, Kate, Adam, Ryan, Joshua, Alexis, Jacob and Paige, eight great grandchildren; Sophia, Sydney, Layla, Ava, Charlie, Maisy, Madison, and Luke, one sister Kathryn and several nephews and nieces.

Preceded in death by his; wife; Joanne on November 13, 2012, parents, one brother; John Hummert and one sister; Gloria Neiswanger.

Funeral Service will held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at Leamon Funeral Home, Lena, IL.

Visitation will from 10:00 am until time of service on February 10, 2018 at the funeral home.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Father Andrew Skrobutt will officiate the service.

In Lieu of Flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
