James Haug, 78, passed away on Thursday June 18, 2015 at his home following a long illness. Jim was born on September 20, 1936 in Oak Park, IL. He was the son of Norbert and Lillian (Belgin) Haug. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1955 to 1957 where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Jim married Norma Meyer in 1961 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL.

During most of his life he worked as a lobbyist for the American College of Surgeons in Chicago, IL. Jim loved his country and the military men and women that served. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Freeport, IL. He really enjoyed playing golf, playing the horses, a good card game, yard work, coin collecting and most of all, spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Norma, three sons Doug Haug of Lena, Curtis (Shannon) Haug of Yorkville, IL Matt (Katie) Haug of Batavia, IL Grandchildren; Kiley, Kendall, Maddie, Morgan, Henry, Jimmy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Carolyn O'Hara.

Cremation Rites were accorded and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date with burial to follow in Naperville Cemetery, Naperville, IL.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name for the FHN Hospice Freeport, IL.
