Iola M. Cline, 96, passed away on Tuesday, February, 27, 2018 at the Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington, WI. She was born on May 26, 1921 in Freeport, IL to Melvin and Gladys (Mammoser) Piefer. Iola graduated from Gratiot High School in 1939. She married Lawrence Cline on August 10, 1940in Dubuque, IA. Lawrence and Iola were married for 53 years, and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1994. Iola farmed alongside Lawrence and worked several years at the Apple River Middle School serving lunches. She was a member of the Apple River United Methodist Church, and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Stockton. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards; especially 500, playing bingo at the nursing home and watching her beloved Chicago Cubs. Iola loved getting to watch the Cubs win the 2016 World Series. When Lawrence was alive, they enjoyed going dancing together.

Iola is survived by her children; Janice (Richard) Geach of Palm Bay FL, Karen (Marty) McKee of Stockton, IL, Jeff (Monica) Cline of Apple River, grandchildren; Traci Geach, Tony (Kerri) Geach, Betsy (Ryan) McGranahan, Abby(Ron) Crooks, Ben (Danielle) Cline, Alan (Krystal Francis) McKee, great-grandchildren; Cassidy, Jackson, McKenna, Tori, Erin, Sean, Kate, Bella, Morgan, and Ryker, sister; Carol Koeller, and brother; Ronie( Donna) Piefer, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence on August 21, 1994, and brother Wayne Piper.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Apple River United Methodist Church in Apple River, IL.

A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of services on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the church.

Pastor Libby Rutherford will officiate the services.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Private family burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name, for the Apple River United Methodist Church.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Lafayette Manor and the Lafayette Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion towards Iola.
