Howard E. Watson, age 86, passed away on Sunday April 27, 2014 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home. He was born on August 14, 1927 to John and Esther (McKinstry) Watson. Howard graduated in 1945 from Warren High School. He was a member of the Apple River United Methodist Church. Howard taught Sunday School, was treasurer and an usher for many years. He farmed with his parents in the Apple River Area for many years. He then worked at the Warren Farmers Exchange and then Hartzell Family Foods. Howard enjoyed hunting and traveling.

Howard is survived by one sister Doris Wills of Elizabeth, IL, Nieces and Nephews John (Joyce) Wills of Galena, IL, Goldie (Dennis) Foley of Scales Mound, IL, Thelma (Kevin) Busker of Rockford, IL and Elmer and Roger Wills both of Elizabeth, IL. Three great nieces and four great nephews. Special friend Janet Temperly.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Esther Watson, one brother John David Watson, one sister in infancy Marion Mae Watson, brother in law Eldon H. Wills and niece Joyce Wills.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday May 1, 2014 at the Apple River United Methodist Church.

Friends may call from 9:00 till time of service on Thursday.

Pastor Donna Hoffman will officiate.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
