Obituary

Henry R. Steuart, age 86 of Warren, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL.

He was born December 5, 1927 in Greenville, PA, the son of Jerald and Ruth (Riemann) Steuart. Henry married Rose Marie Hess on December 21, 1974 in Gurnee, IL. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. Henry was a program director for the Boy Scouts of America, he received the Silver Beaver award there highest honor. Henry was a member of the VFW, Masonic Lodge of Stockton, Lion's Club, a former commander of the Warren American Legion, and also served on the Chamber of Commerce Board in Warren.

Henry is survived by his wife Rose; 8 children- Steve (Sandy) Steuart of Beaumont, TX, Susan Monak of Rockford, IL, Patti Dole of Rockford, Craig (Barb) Steuart of Rockford, James (Esperonza) Steuart of Seattle, WA, Cathy (Mike Skorsla) Steuart of Rockford, Tana (Brian) Baginiski of Brookfield, IL, and Cindi (Steve Harrington) Lira of Gurnee, IL; 10 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-granddaughter; sister Kay Burke of Broadview Heights, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob and Bill Steuart, and sisters Sally Kozalla and Ginny Niekert.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Warren.

Prior to the funeral service a luncheon will begin at Noon on Monday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Warren.

Rev. Susan Davenport and Interim Pastor Barbara Otten will officiate.

Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Wickland-Copeland Scholarship Fund and The Boy Scouts of America.
