Helen Baysinger, 95, passed away on Wednesday January 11, 2017 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home. She was born on June 1, 1921 in Lena to Edwin and Amy (Polhill) Kempert. She married Richard Baysinger on April 29, 1938. Helen was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, teaching Sunday School for many years. She was also active in many organizations in the Stockton-Elizabeth area which she enjoyed being a part of.
Helen is survived by a son Ronald (Mary) Baysinger of Stockton and a daughter Nancy (Richard) Plager of Freeport, IL. Sister Ruth Bowen of Colorado Springs, CO. Six grandchildren Paula (Laverne) Morhardt of Stockton, IL, Penny (Dave) Burns of Missoula, MT, Randy (Julie) Baysinger of Stockton, IL, Carla (Lance) Grisham of Lanark, IL, Michael (Kimberly) Plager of Pearl City, IL and Jodi (Jeff) Switzer of Bloomington, IL. Twelve great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Eugene Kempert and brother-in-law Willard Bowen, sister-in-law Doris Kempert and a great-great grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday January 14, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, IL.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
Pastor Mike Nesbit will officiate the service.
Internment will take place at the Lena Burial Park following the service.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
