Grace (Pat) Mahoney age 81 of Warren, Illinois passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at FHN Memorial Hospital.

Grace was born October 25th, 1934 in Barkway Hills, England to Herbert and Ada (Plum) Ison. Grace married James (Jim) Mahoney on June 21, 1955 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Warren, Illinois. Grace met her future husband in Cambridge, England while Jim was serving in the Air Force. She left her entire family in England behind and boarded a ship alone and crossed the Atlantic Ocean to follow her future husband to the United States. She moved from the City of Cambridge, England to the Mahoney Family Farm in Nora, Illinois to create a new life and raise a family.

Pat loved to socialize and laugh with friend's, especially spending time visiting with them over endless pots of coffee. She enjoyed many years participating in multiple card clubs and always enjoyed preparing and cooking when it was her month to host card club. She enjoyed shopping with her friends, daughters and daughter in-laws. Pat loved to read, especially cookbooks to learn of some new dish, appetizer or dessert she had not prepared before. She also loved to go out to eat with her husband Jim and family and friends.

Pat was a homemaker for many years as she was raising her children. She then worked for many years at the Eaton Plant in Warren, Illinois and especially enjoyed her last years as the Plant Secretary. Grace was also the Publisher of The Flash Newspaper in Warren, Illinois for several years with her husband before her retirement

Grace is survived by three sons Mike (Marcia) of Winslow, Illinois, Mark (Ann) of Lena, Illinois, Matt of Warren, Illinois, three daughters Patrice (Jim) Krupke of Warren, Illinois, Colleen (Zane) Riley of Darlington, Wisconsin and Christine (Bob) Stewart of Browntown, Wisconsin, twenty grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren. Grace is also survived by her sister Nellie "Bobbi" Howes and Brother Terry Elliott, both of England. Sister in-law's Josephine Trujillo of Indian Head Park, Illinois, Helga Ison and Eva Ison of England. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews

Grace was preceded in death by her husband Jim, parents Herbert Ison and Ada Elliott and step father Leonard Elliott, her brothers, Roger, George and Gordon Ison, sisters Ida "Sis" Nelson and Faith "Faye" Wilson, all of England, mother in-law Marcella Mahoney and father in-law Clyde Mahoney.

A visitation will be held Saturday, June 4th, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Warren, Illinois from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 4th, 2016 at 11:30 a.m., also at St. Ann Catholic Church.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
