Glen Eugene Carlson, age 90, of Lena died September 11, 2025. Glen was born December 12, 1934 at Ankeny, Iowa to John and Nellie (Aunspach) Carlson. Glen grew up on a farm near Colo (Story County) Iowa and graduated from Colo High School. He graduated from Iowa State University where he studied agri-business and sociology.  He enrolled in Naval ROTC leading to him becoming an officer (Lieutenant JG) on a US Navy troop ship.  Glen fell in love and married Audre Becvar on June 16, 1957.  They have 2 daughters, Julia and Jennifer. They are also very proud of their four grandsons, Andy, Jacob, Aaron, and Luke. Glen spent the major part of his life appraising real estate, mostly farm property, for banks, estates, and individuals. He retired in 2020 at the age of 85.  Music was a life-long hobby, starting with high school band and chorus and continuing in church choirs, barbershop, and bluegrass music.  Glen was a member of the Lena Lions, first joining in 1964, and a 60 year member of the American Society of Farm Managers & Rural Appraisers. His devotion to Christian faith was lifelong.

Glen is survived by his wife Audre, daughters Julie (Kevin) Loomans and Jenny (Dan) Ludeman, grandsons Andrew Loomans, Aaron (Emily) Loomans, Jacob (Janelle) Ludeman, and Luke (Jenni) Ludeman, great-granddaughter Abigail Ludeman and soon to be born great-grandson Loomans. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings John, Bill and Marie.

Funeral service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church (Lena) on Thursday, September 18 at 1:00 pm.  Visitation will be from Noon that day until time of service.  Any memorial gifts will be given to Lena Historical Society. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.leamonfh.com.
