Gary L. Broge, 80, of Stockton, IL formerly of Lena, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was born on June 14, 1940 to Edward and Bessie (Woodley) Broge in Freeport, IL.  Gary married Lorraine Broege on June 29, 1974 in Monroe, WI.  Gary farmed most of his life along side his parents and brother, he then worked for Lena Builders and Kolb-Lena.

Gary was an avid Chicago sports fan, especially the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs.  He was even more fond of hackling his wife Lorraine about her Green Bay Packers.  He enjoyed working in his garden, and spending time with his grandchildren, especially going to their high school activities.

Gary is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lorraine; his children, Greg (Bonnie) Broge of Lena and Angie (Matthew) Goebel of Gratiot, WI; grandchildren Joseph (Neille) Goebel, Brittany (Dylan) Drake, Megan (Tyler) Sellman, Kenny Broge, Brett (Courtney) Broge, Brian (Taylor) Goebel; seven great-grandchildren, and one more on the way and a niece and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald Broge, his sister Lois Schultz, a sister and two brothers in infancy, a brother-in-law Dale Schultz, and a sister-in-law Florence Broge.

Per Gary's request, no services will be held.  The family will do a celebration of life at a later date.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Gary's name for the Monmouth College Theater Department.
