Esther L. Bergman, 95 of Lena, IL. died peacefully at Lena Living Center on Monday March 9, 2015. She was born in Erin Township on May 18th 1919 to William and Edna (Heidenreich) Baker. Esther and Harold Bergman were married on August 20th 1941 in Lena. They farmed in Erin Township for many years. In 1976 they moved to Lena where Esther was employed by Kayser's butchering. She was election judge for many years for Erin and West Point Townships and became a volunteer for the Northwest Hospice of Illinois.

She was a lifelong member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the Hannah Circle and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the Lena Historical Society. Her hobbies were baking, crossword puzzles, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons; Richard Bergman of Stockton and Dennis Bergman of Lena. Son- in-law William Wagner of Freeport. Five grandchildren; Kim (Brian) Evans, Billy (Autumn) Wagner and Eric (Brenda Kloepping) Wagner all of Freeport, Scott (Amy) Bergman of Machesney Park and Stacy (Rob) Johnstone of Davis Junction. Two step granddaughters; Sonya (Steve) Rice of Stockton and Tricia (Cole) Eshleman of Freeport. Eight grandchildren, fourteen step grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren. Sister in law; Evelyn Bergman of Watertown, WI.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997, daughter Carol Elaine Wagner and daughter in law Jeanne Bergman. two sisters Louise Baker and Elizabeth Miller Trost and two brothers Edgar and Marvin Baker.

Funeral services will be on Thursday March 12th at 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Miranda Klosterboer officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 11th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name.

Burial will be in Lena Burial Park.
