Eldon T. Harris age 96, of Dubuque formerly of Nora, IL passed away on Thursday August 18, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, IA. He was born on April 28, 1920 to Reginald and Laura (Scott) Harris in Epworth, IA. He married Dorothy Mae Harris at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA in 1946. Dorothy passed away on May 27, 2008. Eldon worked as an auto mechanic all of his life in the Freeport and Stockton areas. He served his country during World War II in the United State Air Force and was stationed in New Guinea. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to dance to the sounds of Big Band Music.

He is survived by two sons; Dennis Harris of Nora, IL and Scott Harris (Marcia Bouray) of Cedarville, IL. Two grandchildren; Lindsey (Zachary) Baker of Freeport, IL and Zachary Harris of Denver, CO; great granddaughter Rowan Baker.one sister Ava June Powers of WI. and special friend Carol Nebel of Dubuque, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters and son Robert Harris.

Cremation rites were accorded and graveside services will be held at a later date.
