Obituary

Elden Asa Wilcox 84, of Freeport passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 3, 2018 at the Monroe Hospital. He was born on November 23, 1934 to Asa and Corine (Sandlin) Wilcox. He married Audrey Brinker-Shaw on June 12, 1971 in Warren, IL. Elden served his country in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Asa's in Orangeville for 25 years. He worked for Garmin & Winter Construction doing various carpentry projects. Elden enjoyed being on his boat on the Pecatonica River, tinkering in the garage and remodeling their home, playing scratch off's and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Audrey, children; Julie (Bill) Lambert, James (Eilene) Shaw, John (Glenda) Shaw, Joyce Lehman, Jay (Lisa) Shaw, Jean (Jenaro Ramos) Lutz, Jack (Lynn) Wilcox, Mike (Connie) Redd, Nan (Mike) Determan, Amy Johnson and Penny Coussens; 36 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday December 8, 2018 at the Cramer-Leamon Funeral Home in Orangeville.

Visitation will be from 10:00 till time of service.

Burial will be at Sunset Acres.

A memorial has been established in his name.
