Edwin A. Wenzel, age 88 of Lena, passed away suddenly at his home on February 5th, 2014.
He was born on October 12, 1925 to Ben and Olga (Stadel) Wenzel at home in Winslow. Edwin and Jean (Nolan) were married on February 18, 1948 at Amity Lutheran Church, in Lena. They farmed over 30 years in the McConnell/Waddams Grove area. Edwin then worked with Wenzel Painting for the past 25 years.
Edwin was a life time and very active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Lena. He enjoyed playing cards, working in his yard, spending time with friends and especially his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were some of his greatest treasures. Ed would help anyone at any time.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Jean, sons Duane (Sherry) Wenzel of Freeport, Rev. Dennis (Donna) Wenzel of Plymouth, Indiana and daughter, Marcia (Gary) Meyers of Lena. Grandchildren: Scott (Jill), Jeff (Lindsay), Tim (Leslie), Daniel (Kristin) Wenzel, Lynn Meyers, Laurie (Jeremy) Hylen, Brenda (Justin) Pathmann, Michael (Tricia) Meyers, Eric (Dawn) Wenzel. Great-grandchildren are, Brandon, Brittany, Deacon, and (soon to be born) Natalie Wenzel, Emily, Michelle, & Noah Meyers, Ethan Pathmann, Hannah Hylen, Joshua and Seth Wenzel and Brad and Sara Nelson.
Edwin is also survived by his brother Leland Wenzel, sister, Marion Fahr, sister-in-laws, Dorothy Snider, Lucille Nolan, and Virginia Miller.
He was preceded in death by parents, and brother Walter Wenzel.
Services will be on Tuesday, February 11th, at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lena with visitation Monday 4-7 p.m. at Good Shepherd and an hour before the service.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill.
A memorial has been established for Good Shepherd Church and the American Heart Association.
