Obituary

Edwin "Ed" H. Tesmer, 70, of Warren, IL unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Madison, surrounded by his family.  He was born on December 26, 1946 in Sweet Home Illinois to Herman and Edna (Tessendorf) Tesmer.  He married Patricia Grenoble in 1969 and together they raised two children, Raymond and Renee.  He served his country in the United States Army.  He owned and operated his own salvage business, Sweet Home Salvage, worked at Kelly Springfield, Atwood Automotive, and on several area farms.  He has served as the Commander for the Warren American Legion Post 464, and was very actively involved with the legion.  Ed was an expert bingo caller for Friday night bingo at the legion.  Ed was a very good athlete in his younger years.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had world champion coon dogs. He was an expert handyman, and could fix anything.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.  He was very generous with his time and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Ed is survived by his children Raymond (Teresa) Tesmer of Warren, Renee (Chris) Lacher of Stockton, five grandchildren; Tabitha and Zachery Lacher, and Kelsey, Tanner, and Madison Tesmer, sister Jean Tesmer of Warren, a special aunt Lillian Seffrood of Warren, and her families.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

A military service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

A visitation will be from 3:00 PM until time of military services at the funeral home.

Cremation rites were accorded.

A private family burial will take place at a later date.

A memorial has been established for his memory.
