Edner D. Severson, 88 of Warren, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at his home, with his family by his side. He was born on August 8, 1934 to Clarence and Bonnie (Winden) Severson in Green County, Wisconsin. Edner served his country in the United States Army from 1956-1958. He married June Vance on January 31, 1959.
Edner farmed in the rural Blanchardville, WI area, worked at the foundry in Browntown, WI, for Structo in Freeport, IL and retired after 30 years of service from Kelly Springfield Tire Company in Freeport, IL. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golfing, and planting flowers. Edner also enjoyed playing poker, scratch off lottery tickets, and playing slot machines. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and grand-dogs.
Edner is survived by his children Bonnie Wolff of Rochester, MN, Mark (Peggy) Severson of Apple River, IL, Anita Dauen of Warren, IL, Chris (Rick) Vick of Orangeville, IL, and Jason Severson of Warren, IL, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters; Charlene Burkeland, Gloria Boatman, Luther (Joyce) Severson, Sylvanus (Sandy) Severson, Lois Millikin, brothers-in-law Jim (Janice) Vance, and James Rhea, sister-in-law Kathy Callahan (Cooter), and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife June in 2011, his brother Sylvan Severson, sons-in-law Kenny Dauen and Rick Wolff.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.
A visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.
A luncheon will follow the services at the American Legion in Warren, IL.
Pastor Dennis Perger will officiate the services.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Private family burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren, IL.
A memorial has been established in his name.
