Dwayne J. Robieson, 90, of Lena, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 10, 2026. He was born on August 10, 1935, in Freeport, IL, he was one of eleven children born to Lewis and Ida (Grabow) Robieson. He married the love of his life, Carol Drews, on April 18, 1958. They celebrated 68 years of marriage together.
Dwayne worked for many years in construction for various companies including Fieldstadt Construction, Cheeseman Construction and retiring from Cord construction of Rockford. He was a member of Lena Fire Department for over thirty years, retiring as Fire Chief. Dwayne was a thirty second degree mason at Lena Masonic Lodge with over sixty years of membership. He was also a lifelong member of the Lena United Methodist Church. Dwayne enjoyed square dancing, traveling, attending fairs, collecting antique tractors, and farm/fire toys. He also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, watching the Green Bay Packers, Nascar, attending church and drinking beer.
He is survived by his wife Carol of Lena; two sons- Douglas (Lori) and Craig (Tracy) both of Lena; grandchildren- Sandy (Chris White) Hillman, Heather (Tom) Smith, Shawn (Dani) Robieson all of Lena, Carmen Robieson of Marlton, NJ and Chelsea Robieson of Lena; great- grandchildren- Noah Hillman (fiancé Brinkley Foltz) and Jacob Hillman, Brendyn, Dawsyn, and Brynlee Smith and Teddy, Ben and Natalie Robieson; great-great grandchildren Gunner and Colter; brothers- LaVern (Julie), Nelson (Carol), Donald, and Rolland (Sheryl); sister Carol Nieman; sister-in-law Norma Robieson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dwayne was preceded by his parents, granddaughter Cynthia, great grandson Andrew, brothers- Willard, Lawerence and Robert, sisters Marian Long and Evelyn Bouray.
One of Dwayne's quotes was "All good thing must come to an end."
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.
Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Leamon Funeral Home.
Masonic Service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Pastor Melwyn Alagodi will officiate the service.
Interment will take place at the Lena Burial Park.
A luncheon to follow will be held at the Lena United Methodist Church.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
