DuWayne Melvin Schultz 76, of Freeport, IL, passed away suddenly and peacefully at FHN Hospital on Friday August 16, 2019. He was born on January 29, 1943 to Melvin and Betty (Allendorf) Schultz of Apple River, IL. He was the oldest of 6 children. He married Margaret Wienen on February 5, 1966 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Galena, IL. DuWayne spent most of his life in the Galena and Scales Mound area later moving to Freeport. He loved to coon hunt, fish and have neighbors come to keep him company and talk a lot of bull. His entire life he spent on the farm with his family and his international tractors.

He is survived by his wife Peggy of 53 years and his adult children Kevin and Melissa at home helping on the farm. Sisters and Brothers; Beverly (Bruce) VaMeter of Belmont, WI, Nancy (Charles) Deininger of Lena, IL, Bonnie Vondra of Warren, Donna Deininger of Hanover, IL and Doug (Gayle) Schultz of Galena, IL. Numerous Brother and Sister-In-laws and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, 3 brother-in-laws; Roger Eckerman, Jim Vondra and Steve Deininger.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL.

Cremation rites to be accorded.

A memorial has been established in his name.
