Dorothy E. Shadle , age 97 was called home to heaven on Tuesday July 4, 2017. She was born on March 20, 1920 in McConnell to Joseph and Lizzie (Moyer) Solace. She married Thomas Daryl Shadle on January 7, 1945. Together they farmed in the Winslow area before retiring to Lena. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Winslow Grace Bible Church.

She is survived by her daughter Shirley (Gerald) Wachter of Lena.

She was preceded by her parents, husband and son Eugene, 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday July 8, 2017 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.

Visitation will be from 4:00 till 7:00 PM on Friday July 7, 2017 at the Leamon Funeral Home.

Officiating will be Pastor Robert Patin.

Burial will be at the Lena Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
