Dorothy A. Peterson, 87, of Monroe, formerly of Lena, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Monroe Hospice House in Monroe. She was born on November 29, 1929 to Henry and Matilda (Novak) Kubesh in Olivia, Minnesota. She married Maynard Jordan and together they raised seven children. In 1979 she married William "Bill" Peterson in Rockford. Dorothy was currently a member of St. Victor's Catholic Church in Monroe. She enjoyed crafts, especially sewing, crocheting, and knitting, canning, reading and playing card games like Euchre. Dorothy also enjoyed traveling the East and West coasts with Bill, and also going to Texas. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially around the Holidays and birthdays.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Charles (Jeanne) Jordan of Lena, Barb (John) Clouser of Monroe, Susette (Greg) Altman of Minnesota, Jeffrey (Lynn) Jordan of Freeport, Dennis (Sally) Jordan of Monroe, and Brian (Jennifer) Jordan of Stockton, stepchildren; Susan (Steve) Cizek of Warrenville, Edward (Julie) Peterson of Beloit, Dan (special friend Jennica) Peterson of Janesville, 16 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Richard in 2017, husband William in 2013, five sisters, and one brother.

A memorial service will be held at Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena.

A visitation will be from 9:00 am on Saturday, September 30, 2017 until time of service at the church.

Father Andrew Skorbutt will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
