Donna Harter's Obituary
Donna L. Harter, age 77 of Lena, IL, passed away Tuesday March 10, 2015 in Lena.
She was born April 25, 1937 in Gratiot, WI, the daughter of Clarence and Viola (Southerland) Hammer. Donna was raised by her paternal grandparents Louise and Lucy Hammer. She worked for the Countryside Motel of Freeport, West Motel of Freeport, and the Lena Continental Nursing Home. Donna was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Apple River. She had an endearing love for all animals. Donna was a devoted wife to her husband Peter, together they built their home on Lake Road in Lena.
She is survived by her half brother Charles Hammer of Warren, IL; 2 half sisters- Helen Ladow of South Wayne, WI and Janet Muller of Freeport, IL;numerous nieces and nephews; and friends and caregivers Larry and Jenny Alt of Lena.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and husband Peter on October 13, 2009.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday March 14, 2015 at the Lena Burial Park.
Following there will be a Celebration of Life Service at the Evangelical Free Church in Lena.
A luncheon will follow the services.
