Donald I. Grunder, age 87, formerly of Lena, passed away on July 9, 2026 in Freeport, IL He was born on May 25, 1939 in Monroe, WI to Ivan and Helen (Zentner) Grunder.  Don married Josephine "Joey" Klassy on July 9, 1961 in Monroe, WI.

Don was a member of the Lena Lions Club, Lena Fire Department and Lena United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, woodworking and watching his grandchildren play sports particularly baseball, from t-ball through high school.

He is survived by two sons- Steve Grunder and Mike (Lisa) Grunder both of Madison, WI; three grandchildren- Ian and David Grunder and Naomi Gallagher; sister Kathleen (Ron) Hermanson of Monroe, WI; sister-in-law Judy Klassy of Monroe, WI, her children Keith and Yvonne and their spouses and children; nieces- Sherri and Connie and their children.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Joey and his parents.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Leamon Funeral Home, 210 W. Main Street, Lena, IL.

Funeral services to follow beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Pastor Libby Rutherford will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at the Lena Burial Park.

A memorial has been established in his name for the Lena Lions Club and the Lena Fire Department.
