Diane K. Lutz, age 68 of Lena, passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 19, 2017. She was born on July 4, 1949 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Melvin and Jeanette (Boelk) Krupke. Diane married Kenneth Lutz Jr. on April 5, 1969 in Nora, IL. Together they farmed and raised two daughters in the rural Lena area. Later Diane worked at Sentry Insurance in Freeport, DeVoe Floral, and My Friend's Closet in Lena. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Diane volunteered at the church and in taking care of family members at the nursing home. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, camping, supporting her grandchildren, flowers, decorating the yard, canning and baking, spending time with family and attending grandchildren's sporting events.

Diane is survived by her husband Ken; 2 daughters- Kim Gyland of Lena and Kendra (Mark) Meyer of Evanston, IL; grandchildren- Kendall Gyland of Schaumberg, IL, Keegan Gyland of Lena, Ben Meyer and Cameron Meyer of Evanston; siblings- Barb Price of Yorkville, IL, Marcia (Steve) Fiedler of Prior Lake, MN, and Mark (Beth) Krupke of Rockford, IL; In-laws- Wanda (Dean) Willhite of Brodhead, WI, Bev Spencer of Bloomington, IL, Bonnie (Dennis) Hale of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Jackie (Todd) Schubert of Green Top, MO, and Jon (Vickie) Lutz of Rock Falls, IL; Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Ronnie, grand-daughter Miranda, brother-in-law Jerry Spencer, nieces Brenda Price and Brandi Willhite.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lena.

Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. til time of service.

Officiating will be Rev. Rick Bader. Interment will take place at the Lena Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
