Dezarae Marie Sewell, 19, of Rockford, IL passed away on April 26, 2015 at Rockford Memorial Hospital due to traumatic injuries. Dezarae was born on January 29, 1996 to John and Brenda (Schwoob) Sewell. She enjoyed playing volleyball, roller skating, ROTC, shooting pool, bowling, playing cards, camping fishing, listening to music, playing video games, watching movies and being with her friends and family.
Dezarae is survived by her parents, John C. Sewell Sr. of Algood TN, and Brenda L. Sewell of Rockford, IL; siblings LaKeshia Sewell, of Rockford, IL, LeGina Dean (James Jackson), Tonya Williams, John Sewell, James Sewell, Shawn Beaty, John C. Sewell, Robert Sewell, all of Tennessee, Travis Sewell of California; grandparents Edward (Linda) Schwoob of Warren, IL; step-dad Joseph Wilson of Rockford, IL; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents James (Lela) Sewell; great-grandparents John (Elizabeth) Schwoob, and Randall (Arlene) Grenoble.
Dezarae wanted to help people, so she became an organ donor. Her organs will reach out to those in need through the Gift of Hope.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, IL.
Luncheon will follow at the American Legion.
Pastor Eric Monk will officiate the services.
Cremation rights to be accorded.
