Dennis "Denny" L. Hayenga, 65 of Lena, IL, passed away Tuesday April 7, 2015 at The Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on January 7, 1950 in Freeport, IL, the son of Walter and Shirly (Peters) Hayenga.
Denny served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1967 to 1970. He worked for Kelly Springfield, Savanna Army Depot, Swiss Colony, and on his family farm. He enjoyed the outdoors, eagles, camping, hunting, fishing, and wood working. Denny loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his four daughters- Lee Ann (Brian) Koch of Shannon, IL, Amanda Hayenga of Lena, Christina (Robert) Larson of Fayetteville, NC, and Shana Ehrler of Spokane, WA; nine grandchildren- Brandon, Tyler, and Makayla Dotson, Serena Gunday, Dallas, Rhenn, and Collin Larson, Seth and Saige Ehrler; two brothers Gene and Keith; and two special dogs Sheba and Remi.
Denny was preceded in death by his father and sister Cleo Morgan.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday April 11, 2015 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.
Funeral Service will follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.
Officiating will be Pastor Don Jamerson.
Cremation rites will follow the services.
