Stockton-Delano "Pete" M. Hammer, 81, passed away on May 18, 2014 quietly at home with his family by his side. He was born on September 4, 1932 at home in Jo Daviess County. Son of Helmer and Elsie (Hess) Hammer. Pete married Judy Hicks on April 29, 1956 in Stockton, IL.
Pete served 2 years in the Armed Forces with 1 year in Germany. He farmed most of his life with his wife in the Stockton area. Pete's employment included working at Kraft Foods, Jo Daviess Co. Sherriff Dept, JCS Trucking and Ag-Tech. He was a member of the Stockton Twirlaways Square Dance Club, and the Jo Daviess Co. Sherriff Mounted Patrol. He enjoyed camping, traveling to Montana and Colorado.

Pete is survived by his wife; Judy of Stockton, Five children; Julie (Dan)Rhoades of Normal, IL, Kim ( Elaine) Hammer of Kent, IL, Randy ( Marcia) Hammer of Pearl City, IL, Angie Hammer of Stockton, Dennis (Angie ) Hammer of Lanark, IL. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren, a brother; Austin (Jane) Hammer of Freeport, and two sisters; Beulah Townsend and Maylene Crain both of Warren.

Preceded in death by his; parents, a brother Marlow Hammer and infant twin sisters.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00am Thursday May 22, 2014 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL with a visitation from 10:00am until time of service.

Visitation from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Leamon Funeral Home Lena, IL.

Rev. Robert Phelps will officiate the service.

Burial will be at the Rock Lily Cemetery Winslow, IL

A luncheon will follow the service at the Lena Community Center.
