Obituary

Deanna Louise Jordan, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday February 27, 2026.

She was born on September 19, 1939 to Robert and Edna (Stolte) Marks. Deanna graduated from Bennett High School.  Deanna married Marland K. Jordan on September 1, 1957, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bennett, Iowa.

Together they moved to Bismark, North Dakota where they operated a dairy farm. Throughout their lives together, Marland held several jobs that took the family across the country. They traveled from Iowa to California, then to Wyoming, before eventually returning to Iowa.  Wherever their travels took them, Deanna always made a house a warm and loving home for her family.  She worked tirelessly to provide a wonderful life for those she loved. They moved to Lena upon their retirement.

Deanna was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she participated in the church choir and Bible study. She also volunteered at My Friend's closet and served at the Friendship Club.

Deanna enjoyed dancing with her beloved husband Marland, together they were often compared to Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing and TOPS. One of her greatest joys was attending the activities and events of her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren.

Deanna is survived by three daughters: Tracie Jordan Lena IL, Robinn (John) Leuenberger of Winslow IL, Laurie(Randy)Thiele of Roscoe IL, son Marty(Jeanie) Jordan of Two Harbors, MN. Eleven grandchildren, Twenty-one great grandchildren, two great great granddaughters, sister Janice Meier of Marengo, IA,  Brother Kirby ( Linda) Marks of Colorado and also her beloved doggie "Cocoa".

She was preceded in death  by her parents; Robert and Edna Marks, Husband Marland Jordan in December 2022 and a son Roland Scott Jordan in Infancy.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday March 4, 2026, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lena.

Officiating will be Rev. Bader.

Luncheon to follow at the church.

Interment will take place at Noon on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Inland Cemetery in Bennett, IA.
