Warren- Deanna L. Gillette, 54, of Warren, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022 surrounded by her family, after a three year battle with cancer.  Deanna was born on March 6, 1968 in Freeport, IL to Duane and Judy (Jones) Shaw.  She was a 1986 graduate of Warren High School.

Deanna married Todd Gillette on September 11, 1993 at Oakdale Pavilion in Freeport, IL. Deanna and Todd owned and operated Bastian Beverage and Party Supply in Freeport until 2013.  She then embarked on her favorite job as a paraprofessional at Warren High School until her retirement in 2022.

Deanna was very crafty and creative.  She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, doing cross stich, and anything she could let her creative side take over.  Her happy place was visiting her trailer on the river in Sauk City, WI.  Alongside her best friend, Diane Meinen, they enjoyed creating themed baskets that they raffled off, benefiting St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Deanna is survived by her parents, Duane and Judy Shaw of Warren, IL, her brother; David (Tami) Shaw of Janesville, WI, nephews; Cameron and Ian Shaw, Nathan Bliss, Kyle and Cory Gillette, niece; Savannah Bliss, mother and father-in-law; Sylvia and Allen Gillette, and her brother-in-law; Brian Gillette.

She was preceded in death by her husband Todd in 2013, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Warren United Methodist Church in Warren, IL.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.

Pastor Roger Bronkema will officiate the services.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial has been established in her memory for St. Jude Children's Hospital and the District 205 Foundation Scholarship.
