Dean Edward Kistler, 84, of Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Lena, Illinois.

Dean was born on February 19, 1941, to James and Mary (Jorgensen) Kistler in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. On February 14, 1977, he married Frieda Miller. Dean was a skilled craftsman and the proud owner of his own construction business, Kistler Construction.

Dean is survived by his wife, Frieda of Parkers Prairie, MN; daughters Debbie (Tim) Callahan of Wickenburg, AZ,  Dawn (Terry) Switzer of Lena, IL, and Denise (Andy) Brotzman of Galena, IL; and stepchildren Sherri (Frank) Meyers of Parkers Prairie, MN, Susan (Dan) Johnson of Burtrum, MN, Brian (Shawn) Strawbridge of Alexandria, MN, and Laura (Jarvis) Butler of Grey Eagle, MN.

Nine grandchildren also survive him: Megan (Barrett) Leonard, Abigail (Jesse) Rillie, Ashley (Alex) Killen, Nathan Switzer, Shawna Brotzman, Kayla (Corey) Camren, Kaitlyn (Chris) Builta, Jacalyn Reifsteck, and Madalyn Reifsteck, and nine step-grandchildren. Dean was blessed with seven great-grandchildren and one on the way: Lincoln Rillie, Grayson Rillie, Bellamy Rillie, Paisley Brotzman, Tanner Fry, Klein Camren, Everest Builta, and fourteen step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Darla Reifsteck.

Per Dean's wishes, no services will be held.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
