Dale R. Hillman, age 86, of Apple River, IL passed away with his family by his side on March 4, 2025, at SSM Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, WI. The son of Harris and Evelyn (Black) Hillman was born on May 18, 1938, in New Ulm, Minnesota. He married Deloris Behm on April 17, 1960 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Atwater, MN and together they raised three children.

Dale worked at various Chevrolet dealerships as an Office Manager throughout the Midwest.  He started his career in Gaylord, MN then moving to Wausau, WI before finally moving his family to the Naperville area.  In his retirement, he helped at Sullivans in Stockton in their meats department.

In his free time, Dale enjoyed woodworking, doing puzzles, bookwork and traveling. He and Deloris took various trips out west.  You could often find Dale outside, whether it was doing lawn work or out on his boat at the Apple Canyon Lake or Dunn Lake in Minnesota.  He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church in Lena, IL where he was an usher and helped serve communion.

He is survived by his wife Deloris of Apple River, IL, 3 children- Sheryl Christenson of Scottsdale, AZ, Kim (Dave) Fierek of Stillwater, MN, and Brenda Dee (Scott) Elhardt of Minneapolis, MN, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, March 10, 2025, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Lena, IL with a visitation from 10:00 am until time of service.

Burial will take place at the Lena Burial Park in Lena, IL.

Officiating the services will be Pastor Jason Shaw.
