Corolyn "Corky" Cook (Curry) Osterday, 93 of Freeport, Illinois passed away at the FHN Memorial Hospital on April 13, 2022. She was born in Darlington, Wisconsin on January 11, 1929 to Homer and Margaret (Trickle) Curry. Corolyn graduated from Darlington High School in 1947. She married Charles "Charlie" Osterday on August 12, 1950 at the Methodist Church in Darlington. In 2021, Corky and Charlie celebrated their 71 st wedding anniversary. They had two children together, their son Charles A. Osterday, Jr., of New Paris, IN and daughter Vici Otte of Freeport.
Corky & Charlie moved to Stockton, IL where she was very involved with the family business as store manager at Osterday Electric before becoming a Real Estate Salesperson with Rausch Reality, Inc. She was also a teacher's aide for a short time at Stockton Elementary School.
Corky was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Corky and Charlie moved to Freeport, IL in 1995 and lived there until her passing.
She is survived by son, Charles A. (Ellyn) Osterday, Jr. of New Paris, IN; daughter Vici (Kevin) Otte, of Freeport. Six grandchildren; Charles A. (Kristi) Osterday, III of Middlebury, IN, Darrin (Abby) Osterday of Archbold, OH, Eric (Elizabeth) Osterday of Vernon, CT, Mitchell (Lauren) Osterday of Whitestown, IN, Heather (John) Cox of Metamora, IL and Matthew (special friend, Amy) Otte of Freeport; sister Cynda Eastlick; sister Bobbi (Jake) Werkheiser; sisters-in-law, Ardith (Larry) Benson and Dorothy Osterday, ten great-grandchildren; Allyson, Christian, Anna, Graycen, Lydia, Owen, Liam, Charlotte, Harrison and Ellie; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Charlie, who passed away in February, her parents, step mother Agnes, brother Ted Curry; sisters-in-law Hap Curry and Hester Curry; sister-in-law Lois and her husband Harlie Miller; brothers-in-law Lyle Osterday and Dale Eastlick.
Corky cherished her family and friends, enjoyed attending class reunions and loved her time on the Mississippi River with Charlie and their boating friends at the Dubuque Marina. She enjoyed painting landscape scenes as well as decorating for different occasions and holidays. Her grandchildren loved examining their Christmas stockings to see what unique items Grandma had found to stuff in there. Corky was also good at having things in the house that you didn't know you needed until you needed them.
Corky will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Cremation Rights were accorded, and family graveside services will be held at a later date, at Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington, WI.
Memorial money will be given to the Stockton Fireworks Committee.
