Carolyn "Carol" I. Roberts, 77, of Stockton passed away unexpectedly in route to UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on September 28, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Caroline (Gloe) Roberts. Carol graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Chicago. She worked for Speegle's until she became a biller for Motor Express Trucking Company, where she worked for 20 years and retired from. During her retirement, she owned and operated Cano's Inn in Apple River for nine years, and Cano's Family Restaurant in Stockton for 15 years, with Norma Jean Hasken. Carol enjoyed playing on computers, going boating, fishing, and camping, watching mystery shows on TV, especially Murder She Wrote. She was an active member at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton. Carol especially liked spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Carol is survived by her lifelong friend, Norma Jean Hasken of Stockton, nieces and nephews; Debra Deslitch of Freeport and her family, Denise Gallagher of Warren and her family, Jim (Julie) Radaszewski of Apple River and their family, Frank (Cathy) Radaszewski of Apple River and their family; many other special nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews in the Chicago and Oklahoma areas, and her secondary family; Dick (Ruth) Hasken and their family, Darlene (Mike) Colin and their family, Betty (Butch) DeMichael and their family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Thomas and Bob Roberts, and sister Roselyn Radaszewski.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton.
A visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of services on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the church.
Father Mike Morrissey will officiate the services.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Apple River.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name, for the Holy Cross Catholic Church.
