Carol I. Megan of Rockford, Illinois passed away peacefully at her home on the 20th of July 2018, surrounded by her husband and family. She was born March 29, 1931 in Youngstown, Ohio, the eighth child of Lloyd and Vida Munholand.  She married the love of her life, William Megan Sr., on January 24, 1953.  She was the loving mother of seven children: Elaine Ford, William Jr.(Lori), Charles (Carol), Mary (deceased 2009), Thomas, Patricia (deceased 1970), and Virginia (David) De Swarte.

In earlier years, Carol worked and helped her husband with their business, Lena Drug Store. She was also an active member of  St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Lena.  After her children left home, Carol had time to travel, visiting family in every  part of the world. Later in life, Carol worked in numerous retail environments, including Rockford area supermarkets, where she distributed samples.  A "people person," Carol could strike up a conversation with anyone, and was known for her great laugh. Her hobbies included reading biographies and baking apple pies for her family.

Carol cherished her four grandchildren: Janell (William),  Gina (Chad), Melissa, and Gregory( Heather), and step-grandchildren, Klara and Ted.  One of her most pleasurable activities was visiting with her great grandchildren: Hudson, Harrison, Haddie, Demi, Harper, Cecilia, Jacqueline and Christian, and step-great grandchildren, Daniel and Elizabeth.  Carol will be remembered as a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be fondly remembered and missed by her devoted husband, family and friends.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at St Joseph Catholic Church, Lena IL.

Father Andrew Skrobutt will officiate the services.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lena, IL.
