Boyd H. Schermerhorn, age 80 of Lena, IL passed away on July 25, 2018. Boyd was born in Lena to the late Robert and Gladys Schermerhorn. He was a veteran of the US Army, and then retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Company after over 25 years of service. Boyd enjoyed riding the countryside on his Honda Goldwing with his wife Donna. He loved spending time with his sons and all of his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Virginia Johnson Schermerhorn; second wife, Donna Euhus Schermerhorn; and son, Gary Grinnell. He leaves behind his two sons, Wayne (Brad) Schermerhorn of Cherry Valley, IL and David (Lisa) Bernet of Freeport, IL; grandchildren, Ashlee Bernet of Carbondale, IL and Lindsee (Chris) Stephens of Thompson's Station, TN as well as many other loving family members and friends.

A visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.

A private family graveside will be held at Lena Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lena Historical Society.
