Betty Shannon, 78 passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. She was born on December 29, 1942 in Mexico, Missouri.

Betty loved Elvis, she loved to dance.  She also loved stuffed animals, word search puzzles, getting her nails done, and playing bingo.  Betty always had a smile on her face and always wanted to help everyone.  After becoming best friends, (or some would call them sisters) with the late Carole Hooper, Betty gained a whole other family.  She loved going to their family cookouts and bonfires, and was so looking forward to their summer festivities.  She will truly be missed by many.

Betty is survived by her brother John Carter of Mountain Springs, Arkansas and her dear friends which later became her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, fiancé, and special friend Carole Hooper.
