Anthony "Tony" J. Smith, age 99, passed away on Tuesday April 5, 2016 at Waverly Place in Stockton. Anthony was born on April 1, 1917 in Elizabeth, IL the son of Anthony John and Bessie (Becker) Smith. He graduated from Stockton High School and married Ruby Smith in 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Anthony worked many years in both construction and also as a milk hauler, he retired from Micro Switch maintenance department in 1994. He enjoyed fishing, playing euchre and watching old westerns on TV.

He is survived by two sons David Smith of Stevens Point, WI and Jack Smith of Apple River, IL. one brother; Virgil (Jeanetta) Smith of Waupaca, WI. one sister in-law; Shirley Smith of Apple River, IL.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Donovan and Mertes and three sisters Cecilia Fox, Vinetta Hagerty and Viorena Courtright.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday April 8, 2016 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren. Visitation will be from 9:00 till time of service.

Officiating will be Deacon Gary Munda.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Elizabeth, IL.
