Alverna G. Eveland, 90, of Stockton, IL passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Lena Living Center in Lena, IL. She was born on November 25, 1925 to George and Anna (Menzemer) Wachter in Guilford Township. She married Everett Eveland on March 4, 1948 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Guilford. She retired in 1986 from Microswitch, after 28 years of working in both the Warren and Freeport locations. Alverna was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren. She enjoyed gardening, baking, especially making pies for the church, canning, fishing, boating, camping, and vacationing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Alverna is survived by her children; Kenneth (Annie) Eveland of Darlington, WI, Dick (Dar) Eveland of Scioto Mills, IL, Donald Eveland of Machesney Park, IL, Carol (Kevin Gillis) Ellefson of Orangeville, IL, Mike (Sarah) Eveland of Apple River, IL; grandchildren; Heath Eveland, Cheyenne Eveland, Heather Eveland, Tara (Thad) Morse, Jamie (Dave) Faulkner, Mitchell Eveland, Nicholas Eveland; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Ilo Eveland of Indianola, IA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Everett in 1999, grandson Gabriel Cusimano, brother Laverne Wachter, and son-in-law Ralph Ellefson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday August 18, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren, IL.

A visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren.

Pastor Intern Bryan Odeen will officiate the services.

A memorial has been established in her name.
