Agnes L. Schlick, 92, of Freeport, formerly of Lena, IL passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 4, 1925 in Wheaton, IL to Fred and Ottilia (Armbrust) Boerner. Agnes married John Schlick on September 25, 1948 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Wheaton. In 1971, they moved to the Lena area, where she farmed alongside her husband John. She loved gardening, canning, and caring for the chickens. Agnes was a great cook, baking delicious bread and cakes. They retired from the farm in 1984. She was a past member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena, and a current member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport.

Agnes is survived by her children, Fred (Mary) Schlick of Wheaton, Pauline (Rich) Carr of Freeport, Barbara (Lloyd) Wubbena of Shannon; four grandchildren, Conor and Brian Schlick, Alicia (Matt) Wagner, and Adam (Whitney) Miller; three great-grandchildren, Ava and Mya Wagner, and Cole Miller, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Agnes was preceded in death by her loving husband John, parents; brothers, Fred, William, Elmer, and Walter, and sister Genevive.

A visitation will be from 3:00-5:30 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, and again from 10:00 AM until time of services on Friday, January 5, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Wheaton.

A mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Wheaton, IL.

Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Winfield, IL.

Rev. Father Andrew Lewandowski will officiate the services.

A memorial has been established in her name.
